Just curious about people paying monthly rent, not jeonse. And if your apartment is paid for by your school just figure that rent as part of your total income cuz you earned it anyways.
I'm just curious about people in Korea. |

I own my own house in the US, and will arrive in Korea on July 31, 2008. I do not know the value of my rental. US guidelines if you want to get a loan to purchase a house is generally that your housing should not cost more than 30% of your total income. |

In Canada, about 80% of my paycheque.
In Korea, 0% of my paycheque (and my paycheque in Korea would still be double than Canada's if I had my old apartment's rent taken out of it). |

You dullards, the OP said to factor in the rent your boss pays if you don't pay it yourself. Obviously somebody is paying for your apartment. |

10% of my total income and 25% of my non-savings income.
That's not including maintenence fees and utilities- just rent. |

Ok, if you want to be picky about it, I guess tax payers in the the U S of A pay my rent. What my boss pays me just bumps up my wages. Of my total income, none of it goes on rent

In that case, around %20 of my paycheque not including the original key money. |
