Find out what model your motherboard is, then go to the manufacturers website and find the audio drivers for that motherboard. Download and install. |

Should have burned off your drivers or put them on a flash drive before you reinstalled.
Do you have any other disc's from your com that may have the driver on it? If so stick the disc in and open your device manager right click on the sound icon and search for the sound driver. If it's found it should install automatically. |

I have the same problem with Vsta Ultimate.
After a clean re-install I get no sound and a "No audio ouput device is installed. I checked my 5.1 system and it is on and the wires are plugged in where they should be, so I went to the ASUS home page and found the drivers, but no luck.
I also went to the BIOS and all is enabled. Help

Is the sound card showing up in the device manager? If you have all the drivers installed and everything and it's still not working you might have hardware failure or at least something rather troublesome on your hands.
Or you could just install linux. |

Make sure you have the latest update for your bios and MBO chipset. |

There is no sense in posting for help without providing some system specs. |

Stupid question, but what video card do you have? When I installed a 2600XT (a card with sound ability through HDMI) a couple of months ago, the drivers for the card reset my sound settings from my onboard sound. I had to go into the sound management and select the onboard sound processor vs the Radeon sound.
Go to Control Panel -> Sound blah blah -> Sounds & Audio -> Audio and make sure it's there.

Just a suggestion:
Services are very cheap in Korea. Perhaps you can find a computer repair person who speaks English to come and help you. I know this is not the suggestion you want, but I bet it will not cost you more then 40,000 won to get your problem fixed.
You will save your time, and I am sure (almost) that you can be helped.
Good luck. |

Well, I finally figured out the exact specs for what I have and was able to download the proper driver for my video card, so the desktop is fine. (I don't have to watch stuff on my laptop anymore.) Thank you to all that helped me with this. Much appreciated.

It's infinitely better to learn how to do quite easy things for yourself. |
