Bloody travel agent says i should pay her 20,000 because she booked my tickets w/ my wife's name spelled slightly wrong. It should be NITAYA, and I sent her NITIYA (first name) Also her title should be Mrs and the ticket says MS. (travel agents fault cause I sent "Mrs")...I told her I didn't think it necessary for me to pay the extra 20,000 to re-issue a e-ticket. She responded that it was my fault and that she couldn't guarantee there wouldn't be a problem when checking in. Fooked all if I know if shes just trying to wring me for more money. As today she sent an email and asked for faxes of our passports in finalize the reservations. And I sent them. So she should have got the name correct today. Any advice? Also, could I just call Thai air ask ask them to check the reservation to see if the name is still indeed misspelt and if it is to have them fix it directly and bypass this agent.

Well, I just talked to the Thai air Representative in Seoul and she said it was no problem. I gave her the correct spelling and she said she'd send a telex to Inchon and Bangkok airports. She said I didn't have to bother w/ a re-issue. Hope she wasn't pull my middle leg.

they still have telexes??

but as long as there is some paperwork floating around you should be sweet.
i was on a group visa for china ( 6 people) and the travel agent had two passport numbers incorrect on the visa ( they had the passports even) so the check-in at incheon would not process us until the travel agent faxed a correction over - had to wait for them to open of course - but it ended up no problem, here or china.

Shouldn't be a problem if you talked to the airline.. the school spelled my last name incorrectly on an E-ticket one time, I called up Korean Air and they fixed the problem... when I checked in I still had the old E-ticket with the misspelling, and I informed them that I had called, and they said, "Yes, I see that." No problem.

Well roughly a week later now and just got an E-mail from the Travel agent saying if I send a copy of my wife's passport tomorrow she will reissue the ticket at no charge...Sparkling!
