Here's the situation:

After our contract is up here, my GF and I are going to spend three weeks in Cambodia. We do not want to lug around a years worth of luggage from town to town. Does anyone know anything about shipping large suitcases, maybe 50lbs or so, to the U.S.? There doesn't seem to be any way to store it at the Cambodian airport and it seems like we're running out of options. Any help would be appreciated.

After your trip to Cambodia, are you coming back to Korea, or are you flying directly home. I am assuming that you are flying directly back home, otherwise you would have thought of that option. Korean post won't ship a suitcase size package. You can send boxes home, but I am guessing you want to keep the luggage. Maybe if you send the stuff home in boxes, and pack one suitcase within the other.

Was the luggage expensive. I seem to remember another poster who was going to come up to Seoul to buy some luggage, maybe you could sell it to someone, then ship the stuff home in boxes.

No, the luggage isn't anything special and we are coming back but probably not for 4 months or so. Also, the people we know here have small apartments and really don't have room for our stuff. Any idea what it would cost to ship a couple bags of clothes home? Or know any storage places in or around Seoul?

When I left Korea we shipped several boxes of clothes home from the post office. The boxes are not that big, but the price was reasonable. I think we paid around $120 (can't remember the won) for what was 3 or 4 big suitcases worth of clothes, books, etc.

Is this stuff that you are going to send home, only to bring back in 4 months? I would have suggested sending it home by slow boat, rather than plane, as that can be expensive. However, then it wouldn't arrive in the States for 3-4 months. I am pretty sure there are storage places in Seoul. I will ask my administrative assistant on Monday if he knows of any, or can do a search in Korean. That is, if no one else chimes in with a response before then.
