What it's got:

40 GB HDD
1 GB ram
ASUS P5K Motherboard (which supports the latest Core Duo & Core Quad)
Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz CPU
GeForce 6800 XT Graphics Card w/ 256 MB RAM
A 17" LCD screen
Keyboard

What it doesn't have:
An optical drive
Mouse

I built this computer out of some extra components I had lying around, installed the latest distro of Ubuntu (Hardy Heron) on it, and now I'm moving on to the next project.

As is, I've been using the computer to record and edit music. But it's a great computer for someone who's just looking to surf the internet and listen to music, watch videos, etc. Or, if you're looking to build yourself a computer, this is a FANTASTIC starter box. The motherboard, graphics card and monitor are only a few months old and worth the asking price by themselves. You could slap a Core 2 Duo or a Quad in there, a couple extra gigs of ram, and you'd have a pretty amazing computer. I'll even throw in a copy of XP for those of you who aren't down with Linux.

I live in Anyang, Gyeonggi-do, but I'll meet anywhere in Seoul.

Asking price is 250,000 won OBO.

I am also willing to trade for a DS or Advance with games, Ipod Photo or Video, PSP, PDA, probably anything cool, electronic and small.

Also, because I have one crowding my apartment. If you want, I'll throw in a free wheelchair to help you get it home. http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?p=1651126&highlight=#1651126

Here's a photo of the beast itself. (Mouse not included.)

It's ugly as sin, but what can you expect out of a $5 case? Like your mother always told you, what matters is on the inside.

Mobo - if this is it, $71 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131275R)
Geforce 6800 - too old to be sold in stores, runs $30 new on ebay
17" LCD - $140 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824254032)

Total NEW price for components ~240. Used price would should be more like 200, less if they're old. Sorry, but someone was going to point it out sooner or later. (I'm not saying the system is a *huge* rippoff, but it's not the steal you're claiming.)

Yeah, that link is for an open box model MOBO. Add $30 for the brand-new MOBO.

And the video card is an XFX Geforce 6800 XT with dual DVI, s-video out, and 256 MB ram. I can't find the exact model on newegg, but i think my friend paid somewhere around $70 or $80 at yongsan for it brand-new.

***NEW INFO*** I'm pretty sure this is the exact same thing.

http://www.amazon.com/XFX-GeForce-XTreme-256MB-PVT42KUDE3/dp/B000FS7CDA

That puts the brand-new price at $310 for the MOBO, video card and monitor. Add in a 1 Gig stick of ram, a cheap 40 GB HDD, installation, and I think $300 is a fair price. If you don't think so, make an offer.

Well the Geforce 6800 was a good card, but now there's the 7800,8800,9800 and now GTX 280 between it and cutting edge. It's about the same performance as a 8500 which can be bought for $50 or less I think these days. Damn computers depreciate too fast. Ditto for your CPU and HDD etc.

It's a good capable machine for the average non gamer though. And they won't really care what the graphics card is.

Good luck with the sale, but I doubt there'll be a lot of online interest. Try your local contacts in your hagwon.

I expressed interest in this machine, but I think I need more bang for my buck in terms of graphic power (and drive space for that matter).

Like I said, I couldn't find the exact model on Newegg, but the graphics card has 256 MB ram.

And why are people talking about gaming with this machine? Who mentioned gaming?

A little bit of work (and a lotta bit of money) could easily turn this machine into a gaming machine, though.

In addition to the MOBO, the graphics card and the monitor , I put in a little over $100 to build this machine, so I think $300 is a fair price. If you disagree, make an offer. OBO don't stand for "Orbiting Biscuit Ostriches."
