A couple of weeks ago I changed the black ink cartridge in my HP F380 printer. That's all. The same thing I've done probably 9 times over the last year and a half. Absolutely zero problems with it.
The result was the printer thingie banging very loudly back and forth while the window said the thingie was blocked and couldn't move. Other times the printer simply ignored the print command. This was not fun since all my lesson stuff is on my computer.
So, after having consultations with three more computer savvy people in the building, I called HP to send over a repairman (W20,000 for a house call).
He came on Friday, monkeyed around a bit and decided it had to be taken in to the shop. Sadly, I agreed. (It meant I'd have to wing Monday morning's lesson.)
He called up on Saturday to say there was a problem with a sensor. It would cost W60,000 to replace it (plus the W20,000 for the house call--no charge for coming back). Thinking fast, I recalled that I'd paid around W100,000-W120,000 for it new, so I said OK although I wasn't happy--after no problems at all, just changing the ink cartridge produced a W60,000 problem. Grrrrrrr.
Today at 2 he showed up with a new HP printer and installed it. This is a newer model (Brand new F4185). Total price for picking up the old one, messing around with it, bringing back a new one and installing it....
W80,500 (W60,000 for the printer and W20,000 for the labor) That's a 50% discount.
HURRAY for Korean AS!!!
I'm now plotting how to re-play this scene in another year and a half and see if I can't continue getting brand new printers at half price. |
