I've got an account at Nonghyup and the ATMs are great for English, but I can't figure out how to use them to update my bankbook. I can view my balance and print a receipt but I can't see anywhere that I can update my bankbook. There's a slot in the machine for the bankbook, but it won't accept it when I'm making a withdrawal. I'm probably overlooking something that's totally obvious, but I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks

There is no English option. Look on the main menu when it's all in Korean for 통장 something-or-other. It's normally the 2nd from the bottom on the left side on the ATMs I see.

kprrok is correct. It's either the bottom or second from the bottom on the left hand side. It's 통장.... and has 5 or 6 syllables total.

Take your bank book inside to a banker to update. Here's why.

I put my Nonghyup bank book 3 weeks ago into the ATM slot and it ate it and wouldn't return it. I pressed all the buttons, but the machine just kept asking for my ATM card and I put it in and allowed me to do a balance inquiry and withdrawal, but not get my damned bank book back nor any menu and buttons controlling and acknowledging it.

Needless to say, I had to go inside and explain my weird f'd up problem. I had to assertively raise my voice to say, "I need help," after having been ignored 3 times in a row. When I spoke loud and clear, they said,"OK, please wait a moment." And they dug my book out of the machine from the backside. Why such silly problems? I don't know, it's all a mystery...

For Nonghyup, it's 통장정리, if I remember correctly, but as another poster said, for some reason, I have to (50% of the time) actually bring the passbook to a teller.

I think it may be that the machine won't update your book after a certain number of transactions (if you use your card instead of your book for withdrawls/deposits) or sometimes the magnetic strip might be damaged.

Anywho...
