Here's a conundrum that the search function really can't answer. I also don't want to ask my school because I don't want them to worry that I'm some walking disaster.
In April this year, I had my gallbladder removed. I'm fully recovered and cleared for work, obviously. While I'm in Korea, I will have to have blood work done (a liver panel test, very simple, they just draw a vial of blood) and an abdominal ultrasound... once in December and once next June. Insert long story about surgical complications back in April here.
Luckily, my American insurance has hit its out of pocket and deductible for 2011, so my visit in December will be covered 100% by insurance. Essentially, I have baller insurance for America. So part of me wants to keep it, BUT overseas, I pay out of pocket any way.
So how is the National Health Insurance? How does it work for a standard visit? What's the cost for random stuff like this?
Thanks for your help. As I always like to shamelessly promote, if you're in Sanbon, let's grab a drink soon, I land on August 16!!
