Today, I had the interesting experience of voting in a local election (my translation - Superintendent of Seoul Schools).

First, I recieved a letter in the mail saying that there was an election and a small strip of paper which I was supposed to bring to the polls to prove I could vote.

I walked in and nobody did a double take. I handed them my small strip of paper and my ID card. They found my name on the rolls and asked me to sign. I signed. They gave me a paper ballot and then I was directed to a booth with drawn curtains. Inside there is a "stamp-pen." You stamp the box next to your candidate, walk out, and put into a box -sweet and simple.

In all my time here, I would have never believed I would be voting...
