Does anyone know of a gym or two in the HBC neighbourhood?
Which one would you recommend? Price per month? Equipment etc?
Directions would be greatly appreciated.

I went to the one at the top of oh-go-ri for a while. It's in the basement of the building across the street from Tous Les Jours. It's all right - six or so treadmills, two elliptical machines, plenty of fat-jiggling machines and foot massagers, stationary bikes, mats and yoga balls, etc. As for weights, I'd say one-half of the room is taken up by the usual lever machines, one or two good dumbbell benches, and enough big weights to satisfy most of the dudes I saw in there. It's not glamorous by any means, and some of the equipment is old, but it has enough for the average gym-goer.
45,000 won/month. I'm really meaning to get back there. Next week, I tell myself... sigh. If you're interested and looking for a gym buddy, send me a PM. Maybe that's the motivation I need. |

I moved into the neighbourhood yesterday and took a walk looking for the gym mentioned.
At the top of 'oh-go-ri', Tous le Jours is there right enough, and there's also a Mini-Stop convenience store opposite TLJ, but I couldn't find the gym at all. No signs, it was all a bit weird.
Does anyone know if it's still in business, or am missing it entirely?

Yeah, I had trouble finding it myself the first time. If you're coming up from the main road of Haebangchon, Tous Les Jours is on your left and the gym will be on your right. There's a building that kind of looks like a police building and as you're facing it (with Tous Les Jours to your back), at the left of the building there's a set of double glass doors. Go in those, past some decorative kimchi pots, and then down the stairs to your right. It's one floor down. |

Thanks!
I'll swing by on Monday and check it out. If all's good I'll sign up for the month.
Cheers. |
