while waiting in the bank the news was showing, saying how wooribank have won some competition and are classed as the number 1 bank in the world.

woori (world) bank didnt know what british ment, had never heard of united kingdom, and after an hour of trying to arrange money to be moved into another account, they said ok, 750 dollars will go into that account, i said i dont use dollars, oh euros we mean, i said no pounds.

eventually i gave up as i had been out of work for an hour.

Fair enough, they might be a decent enough bank in other peoples experiences, and i dont speak korean, but they sure as hell shouldnt call themselves 'world bank.'

Definitely that is the exception to the rule. I've been in several Woori banks and they all clearly know Pounds / UK from Dollar / US.

I was with Woori for about three years before I closed my account. I applied for a Visa card. they said yes, then a day later they said no. Even though I do work for a public school, the friendly man said with a smile, "you are a foreigner. Only Korean people can have a Visa card."

So I closed my account, or so I thought. After opening a new account at a different bank, and telling the payroll officer here at my school, who forgot on the subsequent payday that I had changed my account and payed it back into my Woori account, I had to go back to Woori and close my account... again. So I closed my account again after I closed it the first time? So it was never closed, or the jackass had no idea what he was doing.

Woori bank is run by a bunch of clowns.
