Yup current resident actually.
Not a bad little town. It's next to a river which is relatively clean (in contrast with the Han) so there are some water sports.
It's small, I think there are currently 24 foreigners (esl teachers), but close enough to Seoul (one hour ten minutes) with regular buses. Plenty of supermarkets, we have an E-mart as well. Also home to the Yeoju Premium Outlet, which is a rather upscale open air mall with a Starbucks, if that's what you crave.
There's a good gym (my husband tells me its good since I refrain from the gym ) and it's really cheap compared to Seoul. Everything here is cheaper than Seoul really. The towns people are very friendly.
We've been here six months and we've always found things we need here so everyday life is easy. I work in a hagwon here, but the EPIK teachers who are leaving soon have mostly been here for 2 or three years in the same post so I can assume that the schools are great and they really see no need to move about.
So this is my glowing recommendation for little Yeoju. If you want to know any more just pm me. |

OP, I've been through Yeoju. It's not a bad place at all and the people are friendly. Seems to be a nice place to work if you want to be off the beaten path and experience the real Korea. I'd work there... but I like where I am too... |
