From seeing films like "Empire of the Sun", I always assumed Hershey's chocolate would be the best thing ever. How wrong could I be? You can't buy it in my home country, so I tried it for the first time here in Korea. Wow! How can they make chocolate smell and taste like puke?? When kids give me those little Hershey's Kisses, I always just pass them on asap. The white chocolate ones are ok, but the brown ones really make me gag.
Are they really popular in North America? How is this possible?? |

it is something that has always baffled me as well. baffled. it tastes like wax. all 'over-the-counter' chocolate in fact is inedible in my opinion. you have to go to a chocolatier to find the real stuff. otherwise, why bother... |

You're right that good chocolate is hard to find but at least Cadbury's and that sort of stuff doesn't taste like something that came from an ajosshi's mouth after an evening of soju and samgyeopsal. Hershey's is in a league of its own. |

Dove milk chocolate tastes great, even if it shares the same name as a soap. |

How fortunate you are that you never have to buy another piece. |

Dude, assuming your moniker is correct, you're hardly talking from a position of credibility. |

Ha. A Korean friend in Germany (old guy) wanted me to bring him some Hershey's chocolate. He remembered having some during the Korean war (A US Army trooper gave him some). At the time, he said it was the most wonderful thing he'd ever tasted.
He was sooo excited when I brought him some. I watched him try it, and he said, "Uhhhh... it's not how I remembered it."
Pretty funny expression on his face! |

There is a huge difference between the Hershey's made in the US and the Hershey's made overseas. I agree, the Hershey's over here is crap.
I have NEVER liked Cadbury's. The most overrated food out there. Its like eating plastic with a little cocoa powder. |

Hershey's is awful. But Cadbury's? Come on, there is a reason why European nations wanted Cabury's "chocolate" to be called "vegulate". Max 20% cocoa there - most of it is just vegetable oil. |

Yeah, its true cadburys isn't up there with real chocolate but it tastes great I reckon. Plus in Ireland we also get Nestle and Galaxy chocolate which are good as well.
I agree, herscheys is crap. Same as a lot of american stuff you see on TV and look forward to trying with relish only to be crudely disappointed--Dr. Pepper,my god, awful stuff, tastes like the devils piss. |

I'm glad there's someone else like me, my American friends used to look at me funny when I said "this chocolate tastes like sick."
Can anyone tell me what a Baby Ruth tastes like. It looks yummy when Chunk's feeding it to Sloth on the Goonies. |
