I came back into Korea after a nice trip out of the country.
Coming through Incheon immigration, I was royally ticked. In the past, immigration was rather quick. But this time it was really slow.
There seemed to be like 20 entrances for Korean passport holders, but only 3 lines for Foreigners.
What really bothered me was that there was not a line for Korean Foreign residents with "F" and "E" visas.
There seems to be no "conception" that there might be visa holding foreign workers or residents in Korea.
I think it would be a good suggestion and change for Immigration at Incheon Airport to have designated lines for the Husbands, Wives, Fathers, Mothers and other Legal residents working hard for Korea. |

Returned today just before 5 pm and no problems at all. Longest foreigner queue was 5 people, all Korean queues (lots more, indeed) were also much longer, at least 10 people. Official came to our queue and asked us to get around a wall, behind which were 3 completely free counters. Took all of 5 minutes, then I had to wait 30 minutes for luggage
Might be the time of day or just bad luck, or maybe I had a lucky day myself. |

E-series visa holders are not considered residents of Korea. Nor are most F-series visa holders.
Only F-5 holders can claim that distinction. They are permitted to pass through the Korean citizens' lanes at Korean Immigration checkpoints. |

Immigration at the airport is a joke. Came back from Japan last night on a chartered flight. There were no immigration officers working. None. We were told to walk to one immigration gate. Then after lining up and waiting told to go to a different gate. This went on a few more times.
And although not immigration, when leaving for Japan and before entering the security check area, I had a funny moment with the dudes that check your passport and ticket. The guy takes my passport, and is looking for my photo, but can't find it. So after a couple of minutes he says 'Aishhiiii.... picture....... where?'. So I reach for my passport and turn it around since he is looking through it upside down. After flipping through the middle of the passport for another 15 seconds, I say 'front' and use my hand to flip it to the first page where my picture is. Totally a true story. |

where exactly have you traveled that there were separate lines such as what you suggest?
I've been thru many countries and NEVER saw other than 2 lines - one for citizens and one for non-citizens.
visas have nothing to do with it - it's the passport that matters. |

Japan (Tokyo-Narita at least) has a designated line for foreigners with ARCs. Used to have to use the same line as the Japanese but now it is even faster than that. |
