Emart and Homeplus both had the same product. A silver/red 1000gram bag of 'espresso' coffee beans. It was 20,000 won. Now both places don't have it.

The cheapest altervative at Homeplus was a 400gram bag of Mocha Arabica whole coffee beans for 13,000. Or a 200 gram bag of South American Columbian whole beans for 12,000.

I didn't buy either of those because I was too pissed about the 20 buck 1000 gram bag disappearing.

Does anyone know of an online Korean source for good, cheap, whole coffeebeans? Much appreciated!

Costco has coffee beans at the most reasonable prices I have seen in Korea.

How would a French coffee product suit you?

Delivered to your door within three days?

w14,000 for 250 grams: certified organic, certified Fairtrade.

Four different places of single origin available: Bolivia, Ethiopia, Peru or Guatamala.

It's produced by a well established and popular company throughout Europe named Cafe Lobodis, and being distributed locally by a fair trade company based in Anugk Dong, in Seoul: fairtradekorea.com
They only sell fair trade products that are certified fair trade by the European Fairtrade certification company, FLO CERT.

Yes, Costco beans are cheap and good and greasy, make great coffee. I guess I'll have to buy more than one bag next time I'm there. It's far away, a day's motorbike ride there and back. Not to mention hassling thru Daegu traffic. I think there's some service that delivers Costco stuff. Anyone have the link to that? I saw it somewhere. They charge but it's sort of ok if you REALLY don't feel like actually going there (distance, traffic, time lost).

That French coffee looks kind of pricey but might be worth a go. Does it taste better than the Costco stuff?

Heh...sorry, i'm the wrong person to ask about that.

If you have a Korean-type person handy though, they may be able to help decipher the comments below, but you can see the check list, for what it's worth.

Nightsky thanks for that. Julian that's some exotic looking coffee! It's ground, though. Just want whole beans. Have a grinder at home.

Homever? Homeover? Whatever it's called. They have a lot of coffee for reasonable prices as well. Don't go to the department stores. They will rip your arms off of your body.

Do online delivery places generally deliver to rural areas as well as the bigger cities?

Besides coffee beans, CostCo also has the ground coffee that we are used to seeing back home, but that requires a coffee maker.

Foreign food Mart in Itaewon by King Club gets Vietnamese, Indonesian and Brazilian coffee for a lot less than Korean prices. Try some, it's good.
