My comp. can type Korean and read Korean. However, when someone posts something here in Korean, including myself, when I try to read it on the forum it looks like comp. virus. If this happens to everyone, then why Have I seen the same people many times post stuff in Korean, if it does not work at this site? Is it just me? Ok here is a test. I will type the word for "milk in Korean, post and see what happens.

English => milk

Korean => 우유

Let me know if you can read this. I will also see what it looks like after I post and try to read it.

Ok. Although I typed "milk" in Korean, all I see when I read my post are numbers. Shocked

There's always someone who's missed the banana boat. You have to change the encoding on your computer to Korean before you start typing your message in order for it to type up properly. I don't know why; I just know.

Hello, Kwangju Chicken!

I've had the same problem, but I think I finally figured out:

Before you start writing the message, you must go to the menu at the top of the board and click on Bogo (V)/Inkoding (D)/Hangukeo.
You must also be in that mode in order to read Korean on this board.

Here is uyu, written correctly:
Here it is again, written incorrectly: 우유

Right click your mouse cursor, select "encoding" [E] and then "Korean".

Thanks, but in your post the first one looks like it does on a comp that can not read Korean. I am in a lab at the university, so that can not be the problem. The second one is numbers. So, neither way worked for you. Maybe, this is an English only site. Maybe Dave and the monds. need to be able to read everything so only English will work???? Hey mods, is that right?

But for some reason this site resets the encoding every time you open a new page, could that be changed I wonder?

Hello again, Kwangju Chicken!

I forgot to tell you, you also have to be in the
Bogo (V)/Inkoding (D)/Hangukeo mode to read Korean on this message board.

Try it again that way. The first uyu should turn out right, and the second uyu should turn out wrong.
