|
|
Just got monthly bill. 35,000 won for a month where I had it on day and night. I didn't even shut it off if I went to the store for an hour.
Luxury at a low price.
The Air Conditioner itself did cost $600 though.
Sure wish I could have installed a $50 wall A/C like back home. |

I think you got lucky and something is wrong with your bill. Be happy, I am jealous. My bill was about 200k last month and will probably be over 300k this month. Yea!
I got my AC unit online and it was almost half price of the same model in HiMart. |

I could never figure out the electric bills here. When I was in bundang, I would get absolutely ass-nailed at my new apartment.
Here in Seoul, I had a small place and the electricity bill was about like yours running the aircon 12 hours a day minimum. We thought for sure that outlet was on the neighbor's or something. We checked it, though, and the meter did pick up speed when I turned it on, so it was on our meter.
Just made zero sense at all. |

Actually it's a bit high but not bad.
I can tell where the foreingers live in my building due to their paper statements I sometimes peak at.
Mine was only 17,000 last month. I run a computer quite often but make it a rule not to turn the A/C on unless it's over 31-2C out. Other times I just run the fan. |

Now my wife tells me it's standard to charge much higher rates for electricity in officetels. She said everything is higher in officetels. I didn't know that one!
She thinks maybe apartments are in between. |

Are you comfortable at those temperatures? Because for another 10 to 20, 000 , you could use your air-conditioner here all you want.
The other benefit , I feel is that it knocks down the humidity , which makes for a comfortable place. |

Yeah it's either because it's a nice building and they're trying to make up costs to maintain, or they're overcharging and taking the extra cash to line their own pockets. |

Dude, I couldn't agree more. But I don't think the bill correlates accurately to the carbon footprint. |

Mine averages about 30,000 and I run two computers and the air every night for 5 hours. Also, gaming consoles and big screen TV. Not bad, IMHO. |
