Application for US Residency Certification

I paid electronically and it asks for an electronic confirm. # on the paper portion. However, my receipt only has a pay.gov tracking ID and an agency tracking ID. Which one if either?

Also, it asks for a TIN. I don't have one that I'm aware, so do I use my SS?

Also, conflicting info about whether or not I can file by fax.....

Filing Form 8802 by FAX
Effective November 1, 2006 the IRS will no longer accept Form 8802 filed by FAX.

But the instructions (Revised April 2007) say I can fax up to ten copies if I pay electronically.

I am so confused and I haven't even gotten past the first page.

I actually saw that thread and asked the school about it. They didn't know, so they contacted the Korean Tax Office who said, no can do. May not be true, but now the school is telling me I must fill the form out.

Go to the H and R block site and call the office in Seoul

http://www.hrblock.com/taxes/doing_my_taxes/international.html

It costs around $200 bucks to have them do it, but they're Korean and can probably set your boss straight for you if need be.

I've been here a while, filed my taxes every year, and have never had to file that form. Ever.

Just say "NO".

I think it's actually to my advantage to file it. (If only I could figure it out.) It's so that I don't get Korean taxes taken out of my pay and from what I understand I will still not be subject to US taxes unless I make around 80,000, which is definitely not a "concern". I also believe it is only a public school thing, which might explain why you haven't dealt with it before.

Anyways, to clarify, I do want to do. I just don't know how. Sad
