|
|
I am renewing my contract this Novemebr and I am informed now that I need a Criminal Rec. check from Canada. I need to know what others have done recently to get it and how difficult/easy it is.
Can I even have it done while in Korea (like online or through a parent via a local precinct)?
Any help would be hugely appreciated. I've been hearing conflicting things about Truecheck and others, about notorising things etc, what exactly do I do, my school has no idea!! Help!!
Thanks! |

on-line = NO (the embassy won't allow you to swear an affidavit of authenticity with it).
From the RCMP = yes (but it can take up to 4-5 months). YOu need to take it to the Canadian embassy before immigration will accept it.
By a parent and/or from a local police office in Canada = yes (but again you need to take it to the Canadian embassy here and swear an affidavit).

Thanks, I noticed late the sticky at the top of this forum as well, but thanks for the information, suppose I really need to jump on this.
So I take it I need a form first (parent go and pick it up), then have it mailed, then I fill it out and post it home, where the coppers send the CRC then I head to Seoul and get it notorised by the embassy.
Geez ain't like it used to be. First contract took less than a few days to sort out (2001). |
