I hope I was mistaken, but it sure looked to me like the cameramen (read networks) were deliberately avoiding showing the Canadian and American athletes...
For both countries, as soon as their respective flags were in view about to make an entrance, the cameras quickly panned to a close-up of the athletes feet, followed immediately by cut a to the next country and/or a commercial.
I can't be the only one who noticed that...any other interpretations?
The watermark on the screen was JTVSBS... |

Actually, they showed a lot of the Canadian athletes. I watched it on SBS, but I am pretty sure everybody gets the same feed. |

North Korea actually got more camera time than South Korea . The US got quite a bit of time. They showed Bush waving the flag at least three times. |

Actually, I noticed that. They showed Korea come out, then 2MB and then zoomed back to the Czech Republic walking around.
But they definitely showed plenty of Canada. I missed the USA coming out. |

All i noticed was that the opening ceremony was boring as sh!t and they managed to "skip" about 150 years of their history. |

Okay...apparently I'm insane.
For what it's worth, if I were you, I'd be saying "video or it didn't happen" as well.
I know what I saw.....twice.
I'm sure the channels are different for everyone, but just for the hell of it, I was watching channel 6.
Did you see a close up of the athletes feet?
I did. Specifically just for those two countries (so far).
In fact, that's pretty well all I saw.
As for "the same feed" argument, clearly I beg to differ. Damn lack of rewindable TV. |

I've been watching the whole thing so far. The close of or the athletes feet is when they walk over some ink pads or paint and walk on some paper or cloth. I guess it is supposed to be art. |

One camera guy obviously has a foot fetish.
The US team got plenty of coverage, and so did Bush. What are you complaining about OP?
I felt sorry for the Chinese girls on the inside of the track having to jump around and wave for so long. They looked pretty tired.
The NZ uniform was *bleep* horrible as usual.

Yeah, who the heck was the foreign guy on the South Korean team? They showed him for about a half second. He was wearing these Terminator type shades. Freaky. |

I definitely haven't seen Bush at all, but I did just see Bryant for a bit, for whatever that's worth.
Still no Canucks. |
