I've had 2 E2 visas in the past before all the new visa regs came into force. If I came back to Korea without a job in hand, can I confirm that I can do a Japan visa run with these docs in hand if I find a job? (Ie, that I'm not likely to have to return to the UK to fetch something else? - otherwise it's not worth it.)
- signed/sealed transcripts - to be handed to employer before visa letter is issued - no notaries/apostilles needed?
- original degree and teaching certs - I just need to get the BA copied and apostilled by the UK embassy in Seoul with no extra notarising? (I'm wondering if it's cheaper at c. W30,000 just to submit an original degree cert than going for an apostille?)
- CRB check from Disclosure Scotland - apparently the signatory on this means that it only needs to be apostilled by the UK embassy in Seoul?
- a self-declared medical form? |

Brill - thanks ttompatz.
With the new visa hoops and the apparent tax increase, I'm wondering why I'm doing it, but here goes... |

Yeah, definitely doable if you've got all those docs. Shouldn't be a problem. Visa run to Japan. Coming over to Korea to look for a job is the best way to go, but for those that have never had an E2 before, you really can't do it(although I've heard that you can if you verify your degree here in Korea). Well, Hotpants, let us know how you make out. |

I am in a similar situation; had E-2 a few years ago, in Korea now, have all required docs in hand.
What is that "self-declared Medical form". Do I need to bring a medical form from overseas? Is this a medical check that I can do in Korea if I need to?
Thanks, |

Go to the Korean embassy's website and there should be a copy of the medical form that you can print and fill out. You just tell them that you aren't crazy and aren't full of diseases. |

Hey Drew, the self-check medical form is a complete joke. You print it out, tick "no" on the boxes and that hand that form in with the rest of your documents. No, you don't need a medical form from the US. When you get hired, you get the medical check in Korea. Like Hotpants, please tell us how you make out with your situation. Take care. |
