do you have an mp3 player?
how big is it?
if i was you id get a large mp3 player. 40GB+ - bulky, maybe. But you can store all your mp3s plus anything else you want....
something like an ipod classic 80GB or 160GB is huuuuge, plus you can watch vids etc
or shop for another brand with similar features. |

Buy a 320GB 2.5" and an external case, format and partition the new drive into 2 or 3 partitions, backup data from the old 40GB drive onto the second partition of the new drive, exchange drives by taking the old one out of the notebook and putting in the new one and finally install XP into the first partition (or Vista if your notebook is up for it).
You will have a faster computer, more stuff for music and whatever, plus a backup on an external drive. |

How valuable is your music to you?
I have spent many hours organizing my music collection as it is fairly big. I dont want to lose it, so I have three copies, one on each of my two external 500Gb hard drives, and another on my iPod. Every 12 months I buy a new hd, and send the oldest one back to a stash in Australia.
There are two kinds of people,
those who back up,
and those who have never had an external hd fail.
You can get a 500Gb external for about 100,000W.
