Quote:
Seo Kyoung-duk (34), who made headlines for publishing an advertisement about Dokdo in the New York Times, has turned to the cinema. He is promoting a documentary tentatively named Hi, Dokdo, to be released late next month.

Quote:
The documentary will vie in competition at international film festivals and be distributed on DVD to Korean schools worldwide.

Quote:
Since the Dokdo ad in the NYT, e-mail messages and phone calls have poured in from around the world hailing the move. Most were from Korean Americans who called for more newspaper ads

I've written and deleted three comments so far in response to this article. I just don't know what to say. Is this for real?

I thought the new strategy for South Korea was to "lie low" and not bring international attention to the Dokdo/Takeshima dispute. I guess not...

Bring it. That film will so full of holes it'll simultaneously draw publicity on itself and this issue, while getting torn to shreds and having the exact opposite effect it intended (at least internationally, the Koreans will lap it up no doubt).

Teaching it to school children is a bit much though...

Let them choke on dumb-pills and spend their money on newspaper adds. Knock themselves out! Didn't Korea invade and try to take over Dokto back in 1956 or something?

I am sure this will be a moving, emotional movie. I hope not to leave the theater in tears!
