Guess he's human after all. I'd be more surprised to find out which candidates didn't have affairs, Hillary included.
Wish he was still running. His policies were more for the average Joe. |

I was wondering when we were going to have a Democrat do something Republicanesque with all their scandals.
WAY OVERDUE. I didnt think it would be John Edwards though. |

The National Enquirer. Great.
It would have been nice, however, had John Edwards won the Democratic nomination or at least been named by Barack Obama as his running-mate before this scandal broke. |

Yes, but at least she was of age. |

I don't see any implications for the wider race here considering that Edwards was never close to the nomination and wasn't going to be VP either. If anything, it'll just solidify the democrats' conviction that they chose the right person - good thing we didn't go with the white guy this year. |

I don't either. He's not a candidate for anything. It may affect how much (if any) screen time he gets at the convention, but that's about it. It probably won't affect any future political ambitions either.
Something with more impact is the Sen. Stevens of Alaska thing. |

The best thing about this is we'll get a few weeks without having to listen to McCain whine and complain that Obama is too popular.
Regarding Edwards. If you get caught cheating, there are numerous other incidents where you weren't caught, for sure. |

Relax. I was just fantasizing. On the other hand, I do not see the racial implications that you seem to see, above. Last I checked, all humans, and not just "white guys," lied, cheated, and stole... |

Have any of you seen a picture of the woman! Couldn't he at least cheat on his wife(who is dying of cancer!) with someone have decent looking.
I really feel for his wife, dying of cancer and her husband cheating on her with a hideous looking woman. |

Absolutely. If he really respected his wife, he'd have cheated on her with a hot babe.
I bet he hit his mother with his hat on, too.

Ummmm...I read that as the 'presidential race', not the human race or the white race. As for the 'white guy' comment, there was a white guy, a white woman and a black guy. Mith can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he was just making a humorous identification. |

Ummmm. No, I was not responding to the clause you seem to think I was responding to.
While we are singling each other's remarks out for this level of scrutiny, are you homophobic? "Being of legal age" relates to clear-cut criminal law. Consenting homosexual adults seeking sexual partners in public restrooms, however, remains controversial. It involves constitutional privacy arguments, among other things. In any case, you seem to believe that because Larry Craig sought a homosexual partner, an adult homosexual partner, in a public restroom, that this somehow makes him morally lesser than a guy who sought an adult heterosexual partner while his wife remained at home, suffering cancer.
Looks like we have "race" and "gender" so far. Who wants to add "class?" Because it cannot possibly be a Democratic discussion without all three... |

I am a little surprised.
Its not like I had any respect for Edwards. He seemed entirely unprepared and too shallow for the Presidency. But I didn't realize that he was a bad person on top of all of this. I have always loathed his policy and his presentation, but now I just think the man is complete douche. |
