This link is quite useful. It seems that after applying for the CRC you can ask the Ministry of Justice to forward it directly on to the Department of Internal Affairs for Apostille.

I'm still curious about whether other NZers with two passports have had any difficulty using a CRC from New Zealand but being in Korea on a different passport. One person on Daves said he's had no problem with this but another poster has said that your CRC must be from the same country that you've got your passport from. |

In NZ the CRC is free, but if they forward it directly to get the Apostille, the Authentication Unit wont do a thing until you call them to arrange payment ($40 for the Apostille).
I live rurally but it only took 6 days (mon-sat) for the CRC including delivery time (they sent me a copy and forwarded the original to the Authentication Unit). Once I arranged payment it only took another 3 days to receive the original with Apostille. |

I'm also applying for my E2 with my GBR passport - but using my Kiwi CRC. I hope someone can help us with some info. |

There is probably a reason, but why don't you just use your NZ passport and save yourself a possible headache |

I'd heard that GBR's can get their pension back???
Any ideas.
I'd also like to try out being a Pom for a while. In Korea I've had a few people just walk away, and say nothing, after I'd replied to, "Where are you from?" I got the impression God's Own wasn't that respected up there (although you wouldn't think so when you walk on Auckland streets).
Any info about the pension - and CRC - would be appreciated. |

My reason for being on my British passport for most of the time I've been here is that the I used my British passport in my second contract and since then employers have suggested sticking with it because it saves on confusion.
As for British passport holders getting their pensions back, that's not true yet as far as I know.
Haven't the Aussies negotiated a deal with Korea about getting their pensions back?
I wish the UK and NZ governments would pull their fingers out of their arses and sort something out. It would great if it was retrospective too - I'd get several million back. |
