Just wondering with all the Olympic fever going around, who doesn't really get into the Olympics? Meaning just being complacent about them, or just not caring about them at all. |

I'll watch the rowing simply because it's a sport I've competed at the national level, and this is the only chance I get to actually watch a regatta. But care about the Olympics themselves? Nah. |

I was interested for a bit, but now I've grown bored. All the Olympic ladies are not so attractive, had they been I probably would still care. |

Its hard to care about them when you're limited to korean TV coverage.
Sure, you can get some other events off the internet. Often hours or days after they've happened, and you already know the result. |

That's pretty much how it is in the US. Unless you watch them live at around midnight, the results are pretty much in when you wake up. |

I've always felt estranged from athletic competition on the grounds it isn't in the utilitarian interest.
What happiness it creates for the winning team and fans is offset by unhappiness for the losing team and fans.
So the net sum is zero.

The sports, I could care less about. I don't give a shit about swimming for 3.9 years at a time, why should I care now?
But I do care about the IOC. I hate them for what they did to amateur boxing, the fucklers. |

I like amateur boxing when it's NOT on the computer scoring. I like watching novices at club shows, or any other fights that aren't scored on the computer scoring system.
Look at the Olympics, and other International tournaments like the Worlds. Amateur boxing looks like fencing and tag combined!
The corrupt Koreans that stole Roy Jones' gold medal in '88 caused the BS computer scoring to be put into effect. The computer scoring is terrible! Body shots aren't scored, and a quick jab is worth the same as a right hand that drops your opponent: 1 point. |
