Hello,

About a week ago I was out in Hongdae with some friends. At the end of the night, we somehow ended up with a random Korean guy, who none of us knew. We were all eating dinner and having a good time, and he was chatting away with us. He said he had been in the country for about a week and that he was looking to make new friends. After about an hour of drinking and eating (it was like 5am), he unsolicitously announced that he had a "kilo of meth" that he was looking to unload. I was dumbfounded. We all instantly got up from the table, paid our bill, and got out of dodge. He came ouside with us and we told him that he was an absolute moron for importing something like that. And for all we know, he could be a narc. In fact, I am pretty certain he was. Who casually mentions to complete strangers that he is in possession of one of the most disgusting drugs of our time?

Anyways, I wanted to make this posting because it seemed incredibly out of the ordinary. I mean, I'm not an anti-drug person, but when something like this happens, I don't want someone getting caught up in a bust like that.

Take care people

Was he kyopo? Those dudes are schemers, especially the LA ones. I've never known them to be drug dealers though.

If he was a narc, he'd be an awful one. If he was trying to entrap people into a drugs deal better to use a bit of weed as the bait, rather than a kg of meth. I'd say he was probably a muppet with a penchant for bullsh*t rather than an narc

Entrapment doesn't work in Korea. They could care less if you are entrapped.

Getting foreigners caught with a kilo of meth would be great for the government's desires.

Yeah, now I know to be weary when random people offer me kilos of drugs.

Before I read this, I would have jumped at the opportunity to own my own kilo of meth.

Yeah, thanks a lot for the heads up man. I would have given him a
copy of my ARC with my HP number on it. Then when I was in possession
of that sweet, sweet stuff I would have invited some high school girls
to my apartment for some methy fun. I would then take a double dose
of the stuff before bed so that I would still be buzzing when I was
teaching kindy the next day.

Sorry, I can't resist sarcasm.

omg...what did this guy look like? Was he youngish, very pimply? Some random guy came up to me in Hongdae as I was walking home, and he was like "Hey, I've been in Korea for about a week or two now, and I haven't really made any friends...just wondering if you wanted to hang out".

I was like, "I...have to go now". I could just smell the narc/englishee lessons BS from a mile.

why do korean police care so much about foreigners doing drugs anyway?
its not like they are on street corners selling it.. they do it among themselves and harm nobody!
lets all go and drink 6 bottles of SOJU and get wasted!! because the results are the same right? then we can go home and beat our wives like korean men do.. throw up in the street, abuse people and pass out on the street.. this is all ok ... BUT do not smoke marijuana! becuause this is a terrible drug and you can do terrible things! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Misleading and rather stupid thread title since the OP admittedly doesn't even know if the guy was indeed a narc, congratulations! Rolling Eyes
