I've taught in Korea for two years now and might be going back for one more (really, this would be the last.) I am considering working in Jeju starting some time in September.
1. Would you have any leads regarding good postions there-----good pay, hours, students? I'd consider a university position, of course. Also, any specific worthwhile recruiters which work with schools in Jeju and which you could recommend would be helpful.
2. For those who have lived there, what can you tell me about your experience on the island? I know... boring might be the operative word for some of you. Any specifics would be great.
Feel free to send me a private message. Thanks in advance. |

1. Post your resume on Dave's
2. Scan the positions available on-line for Jeju and apply at will
3. Check out JNU's website for positions
In general, jobs on Jeju tend to pay less than jobs on the mainland. Maybe they think that living there is a payoff, though it is doubtful that any potential employee thinks so.
For the university position, I think they do hire people with experience (preferably university level) and just their BA. Having the MA would help you out.
Let us know how it goes. |

I'm generally talking about university positions/unigwons, but hakwons used to be the same. Just picked up on this by following the job boards over the years, and watching the Jeju bashing threads that pop up once in a while. |
