Anybody know where about in Seoul this Univ is? I have to travel there from Busan via train, does anybody know what the easiest way to get there would be once I get off at the major train station? Traveling around this country has been a little harder than I expected.
Thanks! |

From Seoul Station, get on Line #4 (light blue) and head north-east to Dongdaemoon Stadium. Then transfer to Line #2 green) and head eastward. Look for Konkuk University Station on the map. Line #2 and #7 meet (olive line). Welcome to town.

Welcome to Seoul.
Take subway line number one from Seoul Station to City Hall. At City Hall transfer to line number 2 (the green line) and you can head straight to KonKuk University. Make sure you go in the right direction though - the first station you pass after City Hall station should be Euljiro 1 Ga.
Konkuk University has a nice big pond on the campus. It's a nice place to sit and chat. |

Not to take anything away from KiwiDuncan (whose directions, below, are to-the-point and accurate), I've inserted station nos. to remove any possibility of ambiguity:
Take subway line number one from Seoul Station (subway station # 133) to City Hall (# 132). At City Hall transfer to line number 2 (the green line; City Hall is # 201) and you can head straight to KonKuk University (# 212). Make sure you go in the right direction though - the first station you pass after City Hall station should be Euljiro 1 Ga (# 202).
Give yourself approx. 2 mins between each station (within Seoul). So, from City Hall to KonKuk should be approx. 22 mins.
And yes, do pay attention to heading in the right direction: in my early days of using the subway, I'd sometimes suddenly realize that I was heading the wrong way , and would have to scramble off and change direction...and, naturally, it would happen when I was short of time.
Bon voyage! |

Thanks for that additional info. I should have added the numbers myself but it slipped my mind. Cheers |

Well, Kiwiduncan, I can be pedantic (or seemingly-pedantic, as I prefer to think of myself )...using subway nos. became a pet peeve of mind: I once wasted like 1 1/2 hours at Sinchon station (# 240) because the other expat I was waiting to meet had gone to Sincheon station (217). For those of us who are non-speakers of Korean, like me, some stations sure are confusing: Samsong (318) & Samseong (219).
Incidentally, your nickname reminds me of a friend from NZ ('KiwiMike' I call him once in a while), who once regaled a subway car with his guitar playing and singing as we traveled in from Ilsan. One older gent even insisted that Mike take his Won 1,000 tip; it was a fun time! (And Mike has since decamped to the warmer climes of Thailand). |
