I'm wondering if anyone knows what the earliest you can check in at the airport before a flight. I am supposed to depart at 9pm, but am hoping to check in at 9am, so I can travel to the airport with my friend who is departing that morning.

Count on your bags getting put on the wrong flight then. 
Just be sure to have enough clean gutchies in your carry on to get you by a day or two until the luggage catches up. *
*Kiko's first rule of travel. |

| They usually only open check-in 4 hours before your flight. |

IF you mean at the Incheon airport AND you are flying Korean Air or Asiana you can check-in and check your bags anytime on the day of the flight.
If you are on another airline then the counter usually opens 3 hours prior to the flight.
