After the show in Greece someone stole Adrian Murrays one of a kind Jackson Strat. Who took it?
Also Iggy Pop's truck got stolen and Mike Watt's old Minutemen bass was in the truck. Thats a piece of history stolen. |

You're mixing up the names. There's 'Adrian Smith' and 'Dave Murray.' (And their useless third guitarist, Janick Gers.) It was Adrian Smith who had his guitar stolen. I can't believe that that article actually was on the headlines for Yahoo news. |

You sir are a man of taste. Bravo! I will vote for you. I HATE what he did to IM. H-A-T-E.
Hmph! The Minute Men...I had tickets to a show that never happened for the worst reason. |

ah you all need to shut up. janick gers plays his guitar better than you, 10 of your friends, and 10 of your friends' favorite guitar players combined.
to talk shit about gers is to talk shit about bruce dickinson's choice of sidemen. do you have the balls to pull off that argument? no, you don't. |

Calm down.
Just because someone's good at playing an instrument doesn't mean that they have style. Eddie Van Halen and Steve Vai are good at their guitar playing, but I hate their styles. Too much whammy bar work, pinch harmonics, harmonic pull offs, tapping, and squealing for my taste. Janick's guitar playing was really good on Dickinson's Tattooed Millionaire, and some of his solos on Fear of the Dark weren't too bad (e.g. "Wasting Love") but the bulk of his work with 'Maiden is just downright annoying. (See the 'harmonic pull off' comment above.)
Give me someone with more emotion: Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, Michael Schenker, Uli Roth, etc. anyday. |

Take a Midol. I NEVER said he was bad. I said that I don't like what he did to IM. It's not a combination I like. |

Did Janick play on Dance of Death? I thought that album was amazing considering how old they were. None of this get old change your style start to suck bull$h!t like Aerosmith, Metalica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc . . . . . .
I'm not a huge fan of the newest one though, although I did actually buy the CD . . . . . . . . . |

Maiden reached musical perfection on Number of the Beast. Everything since has been a disappointment. |

actually, i think my ire was raised by the fact that maiden with 3 guitarists is the only way they could have improved the classic lineup.
one great feature of the lineup is that gers tends to have a much higher and tinnier guitar tone, and in a live setting that makes the whole tonal spectrum sound much cooler. i'm into hybrid sounds. |

Yeah I know I got the names backwards, but I was in a hurry. Who cares. I don't see the point in 3 guitar players. Bad Religion did it for a bit. Iron Maiden still has balls. Good show if you ever get a chance to see them. The Blaze Blailey (sp) era was worthless I think. I was more interested in Mike Watts bass getting ripped off anyways. He's playing with the Stooges on this tour. Saw the Minutemen in Atlanta waaaaaay back 84-85 just before D. Boon died. |

That is the honest truth. That album was awesome. My friends and I caught that tour in Sacramento at Memorial Auditorium before it was refurbished. It was like an earthquake in there. |

I remember Jannick Gers being something of a hero of mine when Maiden released No prayer for the dying. I lost interest in IM after that record, mind you.
All Maiden's 80s albums with Bruce Dickinson are outstanding and I've never really got why people single out The number of the beast. |

Come on, go listen to the title track, "Run to the Hills", "Invaders", "The Prisoner" and "Hallowed be Thy Name", and then come back and say that again. |
