Just wondering if it is possible to have a second job on a visa (E2)? I think I've read somewhere that it is possible...I'd just like to get a second pt job a few mornings a week, but would like to do it legally.
Would I just have to inform my (new) employer? (I'm in the process of getting my E2 with my employer, so I thought this would be a good time to find a second job while I'm dealing with immigration anyways) Is it a difficult process or just a matter of putting both schools on a form? Would my main employer be insulted/put-off/annoyed if I ask to do this?
I'd love to hear from someone who has done something similar or knows anything! Thanks! |

1. Get your visa and your ARC for your first job.
2. find a 2nd job
3. get permission from your employer.
4. take copies of the current contract, contract for the 2nd job, letters of permission from BOTH employers to immigration. Apply for an additional place of employment. Pay the fee of 60k won. Wait for your answer.
5. start work.
note: You CANNOT get a 2nd job until you have your ARC - so you can't do it ahead of time. |

Your first employer may object on the grounds that you could become too tired to do his job well. He may also prefer to offer you more hours at his job.
If you've never taught before, you may want to wait a month and see how you feel. I found out the hard way that 5 hours of class time is enough for me. |
