Came back today from homeplus and we had won 4 gold medals.

We are kicking ar$e even if all our medals are from traditionally public school sports and I haven't heard of half of them.

It is a bit of a Charlie Ra Ra, took it up the arse from my head of house whilst fagging for him in Eton type of affair.

Still gives us crap to wipe in the other foreign teacher's faces though, which is always good.

What's this 'we' BS? 'We' means you and me. And you and me ain't even spectators, let alone participants in, the Olympics. Until I'm actually IN the damn games, I won't care about the medal count among countries. Individual achievement is what matters.

Who has won the most GB medals, women or men?

I understand that sailing and rowing are ra-ra events, but what about cycling? When I was a lad in the UK, cycling wasn't ra-ra. At my school (very working class), we had Tony Doyle, who became a cycling world champion. I was never in his class (although I cycled competitively), but many on the cycling racing circuit were working class.
Have things changed in cycling? When did they change? I've been away from the UK too long me thinks.

Cycling is a new thing, and the lightweight sculls is a first for Britain too. Great that the cycling team has exceeded high expectations.

Now if only our judo world champion, our marathon world champion, our boxers, heptathlete, and various other runners and athletes hadn't choked for one reason or another...still, we have 3 high jumpers in the final. Any other track and field athletes out there? There's showjumping too...And the triathlon.

This is fantastic. I hope we do better yet at London 2012!

Flip! Imagine how sour the Aussie's will be if it stay's like this. Their Olympic chairman or some other crim head honcho was talking dirt saying how GB would never beat them in Beijing. I hope they do beat them, Aussie's are hopelessly arrogant when it comes to sport.

Still no medal for us poor Irish, not even in the boxing where we were well fancied with some gypsy boxer. oh well
