I've obtained a CRC from the Fredericton City Police. They have jurisdiction over Fredericton as opposed to the RCMP. Anyhow, my criminal record check states that a search of records of the Fredericton Police Force Records, Management System (RMS), the Provincial Justice Information System (JIS), and the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), has been conducted on the above named person. Thus, I'm wondering whether or not this constitutes as an official CRC that will be accepted by the Korean consulate. The consulate in Montreal states that:
1) CRC must be issued within the last 6 months by RCMP or Provincial Police in QC, NS, NL, and PE (no mention of NB!)
2) There should be a seal of RCMP of Provincial Police on the Criminal Records check.
Therefore, I'm confused whether or not my letter from the Fredericton Police Force will be accepted because it does not state RCMP or Provincial Police Force anywhere within the letter. Even more confusing, is that when I called the closest RCMP office to Fredericton, they stated that I should deal with the City of Fredericton Police force for such requests because they do not have jurisdiction over the area themselves. Im totally confused about all of this. Any form of clarity would be greatly appreciated. |
