Hi. Im in the market to buy both an external hard drive and external dvd burner. I know there is posts on at least the hard drive but I cant find it. I have yet to be to Yongsan (except the station) so I dont really know my way around. Where is the most affordable place to go to pick up these guys. Id be in the market for a hard drive between 500 gig to 1 T (firewire preferred) and a dual layer dvd burner would be great (speed not very important). Some help with possible prices and directions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You will be looking at about 70-80,000 for a 500 gig harddrive (seagate) and 170,000 for a 1tb, you are better of with 2 500gb than 1 1tb.

cases are easy to find and range from as little as 10,000 upwards. I picked a nice one up for 15,000 that has esata. Fire wire will reduce your options.

as to where, the seon-in plaza has the best prices. I park is the easiest but you will be paying more

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm77/ttompatz/yongsan2.jpg I find it best to get there using the sinoyongsan stop on line 4. I can't remeber the exit but it is by the pharmary at the end (left side of the pharmary. You then walk under the rail lines.

Remember always ask the price, um and ah then ask the cash price. When bargaining don't offer too low a price otherwise they won't bother (you are not in thailand). treat them nice and when you come back you will get treated nice.

Have fun

I picked up one of these at i-Park a little while back for under 90,000 won. It has all of the features you mentioned.
Sinyongsan line 4 exit 4, walk straight ahead and i-Park a minute away. http://shopper.cnet.com/dvd-drives/lg-gsa-e50l-super/4014-3212_9-32692933.html

Obviously.

But that line can be a bitch sometimes. If you just miss a train, you can be stuck waiting 15-20 minutes.

The Sinyongsan stop is often easier to get to as well, being on line 4.
