Lokomotiv Goyang is recruiting for players for the upcoming fall season of the SSFL.
If you are new to Korea. The SSFL is the premier expat league in Korea and the best place to get a regular kick around on a Sunday afternoon.
We are especially looking for keepers but if you have played football before and are interested in coming out and having a go. Drop a line to me either here or at [email protected] .
We have a good solid team and have been together for just over 5 years now so we won't be gone within weeks of you joining. Our first game of the season in on August 24th so come down and give it a go.
(We also have a regular 5 a side game in Wondang north of Seoul late Thursday night. If you are interested get in touch) |

As the OP mentions keepers and kicking a ball around one can only deduce that football (where you kick a ball with your foot) is the game he is talking about...... |

Your looking for keepers, isn't that what Harry Potter was. If it is, I will be keeper although I don't have a magic broom. oh wait, he was the seaker, or was it keeper. I forget. I don't play soccer, as we Americans call it! I suck at all competive sports. Now you can put me on the opposite team and that way your a shoe in to win but I want payment for my troubles. |

have no clue what a keeper is.
I would agree "football" is more appropriate name for soccer, but since I'm not in charge of American English etymology, I have to use soccer.
soccer? no thanks.
let me know if you want to play a better sport, like american football.
beautiful? indeed.
love those 0-0 ties. Best cure for insomnia ever.
and of course, the always entertaining Italian divers (ooohh.. he hit me.. waaaah waaaah waaaah)

and it's a somewhat faggoty game though it was my first as a person who's European born. |
A faggoty game? lol what would you call ballet then?
How about this one then http://blog.kevinmeltzer.com/archives/Rex.jpg
Seriously why do so many American say football is faggoty? It's the world most popular male dominated sport!!!Me thinks they have a chip or two on their shoulder |

I have a great pic I cut out from a Venezuelan newspaper, showing some Spanish strikers hugging after a goal. It's the GAYEST picture I have ever seen, but of course, the site won't allow me to post/link pics anymore.
the first thing I ever did as a kid was kick a sock around the house.. but after coming to the US, my interest in soccer quickly waned and it was never that strong... it's just that everyone else was into it.
I've seen some good soccer games, but the majority (at least for me) are god awful and boring.
My main issue with the game is that it strikes me as fairly weird that you play a game without getting to use MOST of your body (as males tend to be far taller from the hips up). No hand/eye coordination.
and most soccer players are fairly wimpy looking because of it. David Beckham's biceps (and I respect the man) are as thick as my WRIST.
the reason it's the most popular game in the world is because it's the easiest of all the games to play. Minimal equipment (a ball of any kind) and you can mark goalposts with anything and play on almost any surface.
it's good aerobic exercise, but not much else |

If you don't like it no reason to call it faggoty......
It's a game I enjoy. I have tried watching American football but really didn't get it, same with baseball.......
Football will always be the world's most popular sport......... |

ok let me rephrase it.
soccer players never have ANY muscular development in their upper bodies, though they sometimes get big thick thighs.. this looks unseemly.
and having weak looking upper body and narrow shoulders just doesn't appeal. sorry. What kind of an ATHLETE has that?
(though I will grant soccer does confer far far more athleticism than other "sports", like golf, which isn't a sport, but a leisure activity.
I also prefer contact in my sports (though I happen to like baseball), but mano a mano definitely appeals to me and soccer doesn't provide it.
yeah, of course it will.
for the reasons I cited.
Its appeal is in its univeral simplicity.. no equiment needed and can be played anywhere. |

You are basically saying you don't like football because the men don't look butch enough for you?
And they don't touch each other enough?
Only big men appeal to you?
Maybe you have some issues? |
