Is it possible to work out a deal with a love motel for long term accommodation?
Sometimes these places go for as low as 35,000 per night and they have a bathroom, big bed, fridge, water tower, tv, toiletries, etc. Much better than a goshiwon, although you need a grill or rice cooker.
What would be a good number to start at? 10x their daily rate? |

Guess it depends on how long you are staying. I stayed for a week at one once. Although they didn't seem to like it and I only got a discount of maybe 10,000 Won total. They don't like people to stay there for a long period I think. They want quick room turnover from the "impregnate and vacate" customers. Which they make more money from. |

Hi There,
True, I think perhaps in some areas 민박or Min Bak (more traditional style) might be more willing to do the long term thing for less. Although with so few public holidays and less travel this year the hotels might need business.
Traditionally the discount they will give for a long term stay is not so high...you would pay through the nose for a month.
Going to a district with quite a few and asking around there might be best.
Higher competition and you'll get an idea of what might be reasonable |

Id venture to say that this can be done - only because I can safely say I have done this.
In Gwangju, the daily rate was 30,000 and they said they would rent it out for 300,000 (I think maybe they said 350,000) a month.
I don't remember the exact figure but it was way low.
It was right by the train station and I think I remember the place being called Regents or something or the other.
This was negotiated almost a year ago, so I have no clue what they might be offering now.
Remember, as a rule, it never hurts to ask (with a smile, of course)! |

As said, it never hurts to try. I stayed for two weeks in Tongyeong and it was a little over half the regular room rate. Certainly a better option if you can would be a hasuk jip/bang. They are for students so the best time to find them is during the vacation but, on the other hand, if there are empty rooms now they'd probably be pretty eager to fill one. These rooms have kitchenettes with some pots and pans and dishes (usually) and can be had for 400 or 500 a month. |

I just figured a hasuk jib would not allow my gf to sleep over. Also I don't really want to be served food. Plus, they have many of the negatives of goshiwons such as shared bathrooms. |

But whatever savings there are, it'll be tacked back onto the price of a blow j |
Love motels don't provide the sex unless they are in certain areas. You bring your own dame, or you call one from one of the massagey cards laying on the steps out front. However, if you are a foreigner, don't expect the massagey girls to service you. |
