Blake Peebles, 16, of Raleigh, dropped out of school last year to devote himself to playing 'Guitar Hero,' and his parents agreed to have him home-schooled. 'I usually play till I can't anymore,' Blake says.

Wait, can you make money by being good at guitar hero?

Either way, it's not like he actually stopped going to school. Being home-schooled is awesome because it wastes a lot less time.

Yeah, I don't see anything necessarily wrong with it. So long as he continues his education at home, what's the big deal? Anyway, there are so many avenues for picking up where you left off, that I wouldn't worry too much if my kids took a break from education at that age. Life is for living, as they say. If my kids' had a talent for guitar, I'd let them explore it.

Edit: Finally read the article. Until then, I didn't understand it was a video game - thought he was actually practising the guitar!

Still, sounds like he is a lot happier, and his grades are OK. Seems fine to me.

it's really too bad he doesn't learn an actual instrument instead of playing that stoopid game. he's almost as stupid as his parents.
