Im currently working for GEPIK. I want out! However , I have this feeling that if i quit , the school will not give me a letter of release.
At the 2007 ( in May ) GEPIK CONFERENCE , WENISE KIM ,said " as long as a teacher gives the two months notice , GEPIK will give them a letter of release"
Are there any teachers who were denied the LETTER OF RELEASE , even thought they gave their school a two months notice?
Does anyone have WENISE KIM'S EMAIL ADDRESS?

I don't know about that, but I think she is the only coordinator GEPIK has right now. At least you'll get an accurate answer, I hope. Laughing

why would they deny the letter of release? Anyway I am sure Wenise is still around. I talked to her like last week. IF I had to chose, I would rather talk to Wenise.

dain is only for middle schools btw

i ve had a hard time with this school. They seem to think I m very spoiled
and I should have to come in on Saturdays , like the rest of the teachers. When it benefits them ,we go by the contract. When it benefits them , the contract should be modified and I should follow it.

tell them you'll come in on saturdays, like the rest of the teachers, if you get as much vacation time as the rest of the teachers

GEPIK's ultimate goal is to have the expats work more then the K -teacher while keeping whitie's wages lower then the Kims.
Even if I did work on Saturdays , I don't think they would give me the full vacation.
I have heard that their is alot of resentment amoung the K teachers cause we dont work the Saturday.

GEPIK can "encourage" a public school to give you a letter of release, but because you want out of GEPIK (and because Wenise Kim left), you probably won't get a letter of release. I have heard many situations from those that I know that Dain Bae is not helpful in this regard.

You are legally entitled to a certificate of employment (and you get to specify which of certain things you want to go in it -- check the labor law for your options of what to include).
