just wondering if anyone had any input on this...
i have heard from a few people who are very knowlegable (and picky) about their cameras that the lenses sold for digital slr's in korea- specifically canon lenses- are generally cheaper and of not as good quality then the lenses sold in the u.s. even though they are both made by canon.
anyone have any information or specifics on this? |

is probably true - am not a Canon fan myself - I prefer Olympus but bought a Nikon here and the first ones I looked at were made in Thailand - I had to do some searching to find one made in Jp and was told the ones imported officially were from Thailand and the ones made in Jp were illegally imported.
you can always buy it, try it out and return it if it's unsuitable or inferior; saving that, you can order one online and have it shipped to you
I did buy a Nikkor lens in China, made in China and it was a good lens, however, so it just depends; which is probably how it works - quality overall is not dependable - you may or may not find a good lens.
just make sure you receive the proper receipts if you plan on returning it. |

look on the lens itself, it will say where it was made.
lenses made in japan will be more expensive cos they have higher build quality.
Just ask the guys selling the lenses, theyll usually tell you its a japan lens and costs more so they want you to buy it.
or do some searching on how to identify the lens. |
