I assume it'll have to be Seoul.. which is fine.. that's an hour subway ride or so..
i have this idea to try to teach any interested kids in my school to play some touch schoolyard football.. perhaps even have some games. (after school of course)
if there's no interest.. well then I'll get to have a football |

I saw a couple at the Yongsan station E-Mart a while back. I don't remember the prices though. |

I bought one at Yongsan E-Mart a while back. I think it was roughly 15000 won. |

Any sporting goods store in the greater Seoul Area will sell them. Look around Dongdaemun for sporting goods stores. Chances are, they will be made in China, so they won't feel the same, and they will be a bit bigger than what you are used to.
Also, if you go into Yeungdeungpo/Guro area, look for the Lotte Mart, the big one. The basement is divided between a Toys R Us and a Sporting goods store. They definitely have them there. They should cost no more than 15,000 won and they might even have been made in the USA. If all else fails, you might find a rugby ball, which is almost the same. |

Cool, I did this a couple years back at my elementary school. The kids loved it. Wrote a little article about it on my blog here.

no a rugby ball is definitely NOT the same.
i will be playing mainly schoolyard, passing game/touch kind of football. A rugby ball is a very bad substitute. |

Shouldn't be too much of a difference, a little bit bigger and heavier. Look at the bright side, it will build upper body strength for the kids you'll be playing with. |

I am guessing that if they do sell there, they will be comparable to prices in Japan and that is not good news. It is much better to just send it over yourself. My uniform alone would have cost $400 (2 jerseys, 2 shorts). Good thing for timely injuries.
All the lax in Korea is box, so no need to send a long stick. |

far from comparable...
rugby ball is much bigger, and you'll struggle to get any decent passes off with a ball like that
a rugby ball is more comparable to an Aussie rules football |
