how common is it here? A lot of my students are scratching their heads like mad lately.

Acutally I do not think lice - lice is not very common. I think warmed climates it is more common. But be aware.

Ahh, happy memories of the nit nurse. You could do a Special English-ee Game of " Feel the head to check the answer" but you may find things you don't want to see.

Not surprised that head lice rear their ugly heads around here, considering the general lack of undertstanding of the transmission of bacteria and other nasties.

Careful, I knew of a hagwon where all the teachers got it from their kindy students. It does spread around very fast when you're dealing with young children.

I'd buy some lice killing shampoo ahead of time to be safe.
