The senator, who is seeking a seventh term this year, may remain on the November Senate ballot, according to state election law. If Biden wins both races, he can take the Senate oath and then resign. The Democratic governor, Ruth Ann Minner, would then appoint a replacement who would serve until the next general election in 2010.

Biden's Son Off to Iraq

Beau Biden is Delaware's Attorney General, an Army Reservist Captain who's going to Iraq in October. Word is he's looking to take his dad's seat. How about a U.S. Senator serving on active duty? I could go for that. He could run the Senate Investigation from in-country, like on special assignment, TDY, TAD, whatever. He can fly home for votes when they need him or appt a proxy--whatever they deem fit.

And I could go for having a JAG who's a real attorney general in place ready to take over the war crimes investigations/trials that CIC Obama can order the minute he's sworn into office.

Someone's got their ducks in a row.
