|

I was told that now China has new visa rules that require one's ARC to be valid for 6 months or more while visiting China. So, for example, if someone's ARC expires January and they want to visit China in October, they can't get a visa because thier ARC is close to expiration. This is what my travel agent told me when I wanted to book tickets. I am still waiting for my new ARC and though I have been given time to remain in Korea another month until all my paperwork is here, I can't go to china during that month because of the new Visa Rules.
Just wanted to know if anyone else has heard of this or is havng issues with this now. |

Why would a KOrean ARC have anything to do with visiting China. When did the rules change?

Hana Tours in Sanbon told me this same cr*p about the 6 months on the ARC Card.
I decided it made no sense, so I took a drive up to the Chinese Embassy near Namsan Tower. There is a sign at the entrnce that you must apply for your visa through a travel agency.
On of the tiny agencies near the embassy took care of my application and barely even looked at my ARC Card. All I needed was 6 months left or more on the passport.
This was at the end of July. |

I got my visa in Hong Kong with no problem.
Could it be something that the travel agents are telling the foreigners, without it actually being true. |
