Are all "GEPIK" positions filled - well, GEPIK's recruitment drive is over for the term but there are still lots of public schools in Gyeonggi province looking for teachers.

As to the offer from the recruiter - sounds like a bait and switch for an afterschool program and MANY of them are NOT legit (although a few are pretty good).

Many people are asking this question because phone calls from potential applicants to GEPIK are being answered with "GEPIK has no openings."
How many people are turning to EPIK or hagwons because of the "I just work here" attitude at GEPIK HQ.

wylies99 has MORE to say about GEPIK including Dain Bae. He held back in his last post.

BS, BS and BS!

Get a different recruiter. There are five schools (Middle and High) within a stone's throw of my house that are desperate for a teacher. I just filled two (my recruiter friend placed them, I found them) and we're working on a third.

They're starving right now. There are schools around that have been trying to get foreign teachers for years and haven't been able to, and they're in big cities!

Whoever told you that is is full of crap. You should have no problem finding a GEPIK job in Korea. Change recruiters or better yet contact the people at GEPIK directly. Ask for Winnes. She will find you a school looking for a teacher in about 10 minutes.

Here is the problem. wylies99 asks other forum members to post "GEPIK threads" for him because he is afraid to get banned by the moderators. When that is done, wylies99 sits back and responds to all of the mayhem in the thread. wylies99 wants to start the GEPIK revolution but it will not work. I used to do it for him and have given up.

The OP is NOT my sock. I've never met this person or poster.

Many people are having the same problems with GEPIK with regards to finding teaching jobs at school. GEPIK should be helping potential applicants, not turning them away.

Resumes for an immediate GEPIK position in Bundang can be sent to [email protected].

Anyone with E-2 qualifications can apply, with preference going to those already in Korea.

Oh, and please don't pm me regarding this.

Why should GEPIK help potential applicants? It is the recruiter that guarantees the teachers' length of stay. If GEPIK starts hiring directly, then they will not be able to deal with a "Runner" as effectively as a recruiter, who must replace the teacher immediately, at risk of losing the initial recruitment fee.

Was this a recent change? I ask because I used to work for GEPIK a while back and the recruiter wasn't responsible for runners. Just curious.

GEPIK is still hiring for sure.
