I live in Siheung - Geyoenggi-do (near Sosa station and Bucheon station)
My school recently asked me to teach high school students. They also told me to find my own text books to teach them, as the books that the school uses is not up to standard for high school students.
Now this is where I need your help, PLEASE ??!!
I am looking for a good ENGLISH BOOKSTORE in the area.
I heard there was a bookstore in Incheon. It is apparently near a subway station...
If anyone knows the name and location of a good bookstore, please let me know !!!!
Hope to hear from you soon...... |

Walk directly to your school, and tell them that they need to buy you the books for your school as you have no idea what they would want, and it is not your job to buy books.
Other than that there is a used bookstore near me that might sell you some textbooks, I cant remember if they have texts, but he has pretty much everything else.
Go no noksapyeong station ( one away from Itaewon) walk the opposite way from iteawon, but stay on the same side of the street as the Hamilton. When you see the Seoul Tower you are pretty close, Right side of the street about three stores down from the Large Gym |

If you can identify the title of the book you want you can call the publisher directly. All the big names -- Cambridge, Oxford, Longman -- have local offices. They are competitive and will get you the books, pronto.

There is a shop called Kidari that has a good ESL book selection. You can visit there stores and browse the books in person. Here's there web address http://www.kidari.co.kr/ . You can have your director or a Korean teacher call and get the closest location to you. I think they carry books from various publishers and if you tell them you need a high school level books, a sales rep will even bring some free samples around to your school for you to evaluate. Don't sweat it too much, choosing a book is not that big a deal, but I can understand for new teachers it can be very intimidating. Have your Korean teachers and director also look at the samples and try to make a group decision. |

In Anyang there is a really good ESL bookstore called Kyobo, it's on the 5th floor of the cinema building.
In Itaewon there is a place called "What the Book". Use exit three, walk straight and take a right at the next street, then change to the other sidewalk, it will be at the top of the hill to your left, near the waygook grocery store. |

Unfortunately, WTB doesn't sell textbooks, or at least very many. That is unless they've started carrying them recently.
There is a Kidari Book store at Bupyeong Station. Go out, I think exit 14, it's the one near the Pizza Hut. Across the street is the Post Office and walk away from the station. It's about 400m or so, on the 6th floor if I remember correctly. There is a Wedding Hall at the top of the building, Allians or something like that. It's pretty well-stocked and they give discounts to whiteys. |

Check out the various publishers websites. Sometimes there are sample pages available for download, sometimes mp3 files as well. When you see something you like, email them and ask for a sample copy. |

What he said. Publishers will send you a gang of sample textbooks... just choose the one you like and have the school order them |
