I heard a whole back that our details are kept on record by immi for two weeks after our visas expire. I was told that this meant we could apply for another job during that window and NOT have to re-submitt our degrees, transcripts, etc.

Is it true? Is the window tow weeks?

How long is a visa issuance number valid for?

What I'm trying to ascertain is this. When my contract (and visa) expires, can I be offered another job, get a visa issuance number without all the normal hoop-jumping, and then travel for a month or two before gettting my visa?
