I've never been to Ireland but will most probably be flying there next year.
Those of you here who are Irish or have just made the trip from Korea, I'd really appreciate your advice.
Travel agents? Online discount fares...? What's the best route...?
So far I've only looked at expedia and it looks very expensive from Seoul to Dublin. |

Cheapest routes are usually
1. Incheon-Amsterdam-Dub
2. Incheon-Frankfurt-Dub
3. Incheon-Paris-Dub
When booking from Korea the best prices will prob be through a travel agent rather than online unfortunately.
Tickets from Ireland to Korea are usually much cheaper than Korea to Ireland. |

Presumably its similar to Seoul - Edinburgh with the one stop in Europe. Expedia used to have good prices with Lufthansa, but was all different this year. Best prices were on the Lufthansa, KLM and Air France websites. Lufthansa was slightly cheaper (not "cheap") but I ended up booking through KLM because you can mix and match KLM and Air France flights (not sure why this doesnt also happen on the AF site, but there you go) and the times were much better. 1,450,000 won or thereabouts, the fare itself is only about 800,000, then the crazy taxes.
When I quoted the prices directly from the websites to my travel agent here and asked if they could beat them, they emailed back later with exactly the same flights with a little markup added to the prices. "yes sir, how about you let us book them for you straight off the website and charge you for the privelige?". Umm, no, I got this one... |

Got a good deal from Sancho (YongHun Kwon) at Shin Wha Travel Co. Ltd for a month return ticket with AF Seoul-Paris-Edinburgh for 3.1 Million for my wife, me and our under 1-year-old.
Impressed with the time in the air too. |

Dublin is not the only international airport in Ireland...
Shannon (SNN) in the West, and Belfast (BFS) in the North are other options. Each has connections with major European Airport Hubs...Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt. |

ICN to Schiphol to Shannon isn't so bad. KLM was cheap last Feb.
Air France was cheap this spring. |

I'm trying to book for Christmas now and it's expensive whatever route you go. I think the cheapest I can find is with Lufthansa through onlinetour.co.kr for about 1.3 mil for Christmas time. If you're going at a different time of year, you might get something for 1.1 or 1.2 (probably KLM). |
