Are you serious?
You have been a member of Dave's since '05'.
What kind of visa are you seeking?
Anyway here is an example of a resume.

Just change the name and you are good to go. |

As it happened, i got an E2 visa in 2005 and stayed with the same school for 3 years, so yeah Im a little out of practice with the visa process (and thats without all the new rules and regulations that have come in). Im not religious reader or poster here, and I guess once I got comfortable living my life in Korea, I kinda got out of touch with Daves for a couple years... what can I say?
So yes, I am serious. I dont know everything there is to know and I dont pretend to be an expert.
Thanks for your help. I can see youve learned a lot in the 2 months youve been on Daves. |

Ask the school if they have a copy of your old resume and update it. If not, just use Microsoft Word Resume Templet. The resume requirement for a visa is really not scrutinized so just do it. Should take about thirty minutes.
I thought two months on Dave's does make me an expert.
An example

When you are finished, e-mail the resume to your self as an attachment. This way you will always have an easily updatable version which can be accessed at anytime. |

Thanks for a more productive response.
I didnt need to send a resume to get a visa 3 yrs ago so I dont actually have one. I have a CV suitable for jobs in NZ, but its about 15 pages long (one page each for personal info, missions statement, experience, education, references etc) which I doubt is what they need.
Ill see what I can do anyway. If anyone else can help please let me know ^^ |

resume is usually only one page.
Personal info
objective
education
work experience (usually particular to profession)
hobbies |

anywhere. In America, the 15 pagers for entry and mid level gigs usually end up in the circular recycle bin. |

| Simple resume. Name, address, phone number, e-mail address, employment history (don't go into too much detail) with companies names and address and dates of employment (need not list them back to the stone age), and education history. |

I'm a big fan of only posting when something positive can be said, but CHRISTONACRUTCH! An 'English teacher' who doesn't know how to put together a freakin resume (or presumably even what one is)?
This is so utterly tragic that at first I thought it must be a troll. |

Finished judging? After that retort? Yikes. First off, it you'd done some basic checking around, you'd know that either a CV OR a resume will suffice to get any visa in motion.
Second, if you're an native English speaker and presumably have a university level degree, there is absolutely no excuse for not being able to put together either of these documents, even if it entails a bit of Internet searching to suss out the details.
The OP should be ashamed. |

PRagic, you'd be surprised how many "native speakers with diplomas" , especially South Africans, don't know how to create a powerpoint presentation.
The resume question is hardly a shocker. |

Pragic,
Sometimes people know how to do a crappy or basic resume, but not a high-end one which is "by the books" so to speak.
This OP might think that for a visa he needs the high-end one in which case he's unsure.
I was put through about 20 hours of resume training and even after updating resumes that were previously updated from previously updated resumes, I was still getting them critiqued and then updating them.
What I now call a professional resume is different from what I called one when I was in university or soon out of university. Even though the old resumes were really well done, they were nothing compared to what I required in the next stages of business.
Possibly the OP thinks he needs something better than he really does.
OP, my opinion is just have the real facts on your resume of all relevant personal, education, and work-related information in some sequential order without spelling errors. You don't need massive depth, just something tangible they can look at and check into. Please make sure there are NO typos or erros with anything involving dates or the spelling of any names.
That should just about suffice because whoever is reading your resume doesn't know how to make one better anyways.
