The BK at COEX was always a bit expensive, but they've taken the set meal prices to new heights of ludicrosity. Pretty much all of them are well over the 5,500 won mark -- some approaching 10,000. Most averaged around 7,500! I think one of them actually exceeded 10,000, but I can't remember for sure what that was. We're talking about a set meal with a sandwich, coke, and fries.
My wife and I stopped there to buy their ice coffee for 2,500 won, because we didn't feel like paying 5,000 won plus for the same thing at Coffee Bean.
We also stopped by McDonalds just to check prices out of curiosity. Their prices are mostly below the 5,000 won mark for pretty much the same sets. |

The one for 10,000 is probably the Double Whopper meal. That seems to be the most expensive one.
I wonder, if they introduced the Triple Whopper here, how much the meal would cost. 20,000?
Anyways, I stopped eating at American fast food places here a while back. Nothing worse than paying 7,000+ won for a meal and still being hungry afterwards! |

I made an oath not to eat the Fast food places, but then I saw the Olympic coke glasses at Mcdonalds, and made a goal to get the complete set.
and I did it!

Food prices are going up across the board.
You won't find the 1000 won kimbap anymore either. |

That BK is probably still crowded. Those prices are inelastic when dealing with foolish consumers. |

Burger King is the 2nd worse fast food place from the States, McDonalds the worst. Unless you're hungover I don't understand why you'd consider eating there. |

us burger chain prices set even far more ludicrous heights in places like Latin America.
the prices are easily the US equivalent (often HIGHER!) for a population that on average has HALF the earning power, or less.
they pay their staff the local minimum wage which is chump change.
I consider it "capitalist exploitation" at its worst. |

That BK in Coex has a great LOCATION. Roast rat on a stick would sell at that location. |

Regarding prices in Latin America, I found McDonald's and BK were CHEAPER. This was in Argentina and it was in 2006 so prices are most likely up a bit. |
